Product facts, honestly classed, nothing invented.
Sources
- Fuel type, operating style and a coarse size class come from manufacturer product pages and documentation.
- We use a size class (compact/medium/large/XL), not exact cooking area — that figure varies by model and year; check the listing.
- We store a price tier, never a live price.
- Model notes reflect each smoker's well-established reputation, not a lab test of our own.
- Product photos and product links come from the Amazon Creators API, refreshed at build time — never scraped. Models sold only through dealers (Big Green Egg, Lang, Yoder, Old Country) simply have no photo rather than a wrong one.
- The 3-question picker scores smokers only on the documented fields above (operating style, size class, price tier) — no hidden weighting, no paid placement.
What we never do
- No invented capacity or price numbers.
- No sponsored placements. Dated "last verified" on every page.
